All lithium batteries are subject to various regulations for all modes of transportation in many nations. Regulatory agencies governing the transportation of these batteries include, without limitation, the U.S. Department of Transportation, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
